Ensuring a Smooth Process
Following initial engagement by a fund, Delta Hedge conducts a needs analysis to determine the universe of the client’s entrenched systems and the areas in which the client feels reporting can be best improved. The designated project manager reviews the firm’s reporting capabilities and needs, meeting with each group in the firm to understand and document current practice and open needs, both immediate and longer-term.

The work product of that analysis includes a project scope document describing the components of the anticipated Delta effort. This scope document includes a summary of the full deliverables of the engagement across the products and services that Delta provides, inclusive of the specific reports that Delta will provide.
In addition to the scope document, Delta also creates a functional requirements document that details the fund’s needs, including any reports to be created. Included in such documentation are the data sources, periodicity of data, secondary sources and rules for utilizing same, source data elements, and workflow. Report mock-ups are also provided for client approval. Last, business rules are defined that delimit who in the firm can see and manipulate report data and on what basis.
The Delta Hedge project manager meets regularly (as a function of project scope and length) with client liaison to review progress. Delta also prepares a regular status update for review with the client fund. |
